About Us
Hair-ITAGE Society was founded by Kimberly E. Rollins and Dr. Akosua Ali.Sabree. Kimberly Rollins is an entrepreneur, licensed Cosmetologist, Locktician and Massage Therapist. She is the owner of Oxsun Natural Hair Salon & Spa established in February 2000. Located at 1000 South 25th street (25th & Carpenter Street) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. www.Oxsunnaturalhairsalon.com Kimberly has been in this industry since 1988 and received her cosmetology hours while attending Willingboro High School. She has been a licensed cosmetologist since 1991, eventually becoming licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia.Kimberly returned to school in February 2000 taking a course in Massage Therapy finishing in the top of her class. This was a natural direction for her because she believes in education of the total mind, body and spiritual wellness in order to live a healthier life.Kimberly decided to return to the industry full time in 1998 after being in law enforcement for five years. Although, she is licensed Kimberly had to do extensive training in the field in order to become a reputable Natural Hair Designer. She has received hands on training from family, friends and other Natural Hair Specialists. Her training is cultural and has been passed down through generationsAs a dedicated professional and a new mother, Kimberly noticed the need for women of different cultural backgrounds to understand how to properly care for their children's hair. She developed and was awarded a Leeway Grant to conduct her much requested Nana's Lap program. Nana's Lap is a series of hands on workshops designed to exchange information and to provide instructions on proper gentle hair care.Dr. Akosua Ali.Sabree affectionately called Mama Akosua is the director of the Amadi Wellness Connection (AWC) www.BeWellRelax.com and founder of the Amadi Universal Light Mission (AULM). Mama Akosua is also a talk radio host on the Harambee Radio Network www.Harambeeradio.com and program director of the Annual International Locks Conference: Natural Hair, Wholistic Health & Beauty Expo www.LocksConference.com. Dr. Ali-Sabree has been a wholistic health and wellness practitioner for over 42 years. She revels in her capacities as wife, mother, active grandmother, CEO, mentor, professional registered nurse, certified clinical wholistic hypnocounsellor, wellness coach, NLP master practitioner, stress management trainer, registered behavior therapist, network marketing trainer, Naturopath student, intuitive writer, published author, and urban generalist. Dr. Ali.Sabree is also an ordained minister with a masters degree in Counselling and a doctorate in divinity. She is known for the calming and powerful way she uses everyday conversation to provide spiritual and transformational counselling. Ms. Rollins has been in the industry for 20 years and is a licensed Cosmetologist in two states, she is considered an expert in her field. Kimberly practiced and teaches total mind, body and spirit wellness in order to live a natural healthy life and believes education is key when it comes to health and hair care.
Becasue of her talents and expertise she is a frequently requested presenter at the Annual International Locks Conference: Natural Hair, Wholistic Health and Beauty Expo and other Natural Hair shows around the country. Kimberly's workshops are always standing room only. The most popular workshops that she presents focuses on Childhood Hair care and Self Awareness. and on healing breathe and self-massage.
She is a 2008 recipient of Leeway Art & Change Grant. Founder of Nanna’s Lap which provides training and effective styling methods to multi-cultural families, enabling parents to care for and maintain their children’s hair without the use of harsh chemicals. Dr. Akosua Ali-Sabree, first and foremost is a conscious peace loving soul seeking more peace, good health, joy, freedom, and justice for all. She is affectionately called MaMa Akosua, is the executive director of the Amadi Wellness Connection (AWC) and founder of the Amadi Universal Light Mission (AULM); the program director of the Annual International Locks Conference: Natural Hair, Wholistic Health & Beauty Expo; co-founder of the Hair-ITAGE Society; and co-founder of Ujima Press Real Communication. Sabree the society is a result of many hours, days, and months of meditation, research, planning, and development. The society represents a collective effort of a special group of women and men who have dedicated themselves to empowerment, preservation of ancient aboriginal cultural art forms and spiritual traditions, and the fulfillment of the society's mission.
